The history of Berliner Synchron

Berliner Synchron Wenzel Lüdecke was founded by Wenzel Lüdecke in Berlin-Lankwitz in 1949. Berliner Synchron thus has more than 55 years of experience in post-processing foreign films. “Deutsche Fassung Berliner Synchron Wenzel Lüdecke” – with its trademark red and white logo announcing the authorship of the German version – is a credit the German-speaking cinema world is hard to imagine without.
1949 was the year in which the organization of American film producers MPEA (Motion Picture Export Association) started having its films post-processed mainly in Berlin. After twelve years of Nazi dictatorship, the German film industry was in shambles. Dubbing American and European films therefore created an important cultural bridge. With Wenzel Lüdecke and his successor Wolfram Lüdecke, Berliner Synchron has so far produced more than 5000 German versions of foreign films.
